Get Lea Michele’s smoky eyed look
Lea Michele is queen of the red carpet and we love how she re-invents her look each time by not being afraid to experiment with different make-up palettes and styles. Colour-pop queen, smouldering siren or a goddess of retro glamour – this lady knows how to work them all and for that, Lea, we salute you! We think this exaggerated smoky eyed look really suits this beauty chameleon’s Latino complexion and is perfect for getting noticed at prom…
1.
To achieve Lea’s elongated smoky eye, get your hands on a palette with a seductive mix of charcoal and silver shades like this Baked Eye Colour shadow from The Body Shop in Starlight, £10.
2.
Using an eyeshadow brush, sweep the silver shade all the way across your lids from the inner corner, blending up towards your brow bone.
3.
Next, blend the darker shade into the crease and outer corner, then smudge outwards horizontally until level with where the tail of your eyebrow finishes. Warning: make sure your brows are in ship-shape as they really do frame your eyes for this look!
4.
Using a small brush or smudging tool, soften the edges of your extended smudge to avoid looking more Goth than ‘gorgeous’, then blend a small amount of the darker shadow from the outer corner and under the lash line.
5.
Trace the inner lash line with a white eyeliner like this Supermodel kohl pencil from FashionistA, £4 at Superdrug for that wide eyed look. It can be easy for a lot of dark shadow to make eyes look smaller, when sparkling peepers are top of the bill for prom!
6.
Finish with lashings of lengthening mascara such as this one from Vivo, just £1.50 from Tesco stores, and don’t forget to give your bottom lashes some love too.
