How to create Alicia’s fishtail braid
Think of plaits and you might think pre-school not prom – but celebs such as Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Tulisa and Cheryl Cole to name but a few have been spotted rocking fishtail braids and this seriously hot style seems to be spreading down the red carpet faster than Ryan Reynolds’ phone number. It looks über tricky but this is one ‘do’ you really can, well, do! Here’s how…
For a messy, un-done look like Alicia’s begin by spritzing your hair with Umberto Giannini’s Glam Hair Tousled Salt Spray, £5.61 from Boots. Next, sweep all your hair to one side with your fingers then split into two sections from just behind one ear.
Hold one piece of hair in your right hand, and the other with your left. With your left hand, take a small section of hair from the outside of the left half and transfer over to the inside of the right section. Got it?
Now it’s time to do the opposite – with your right hand, take a small piece of hair from the outside of the right piece and transfer to the inside of the left section.
