Get Her Prom Look
Go glee-fully glam like Diana Agron
There is something deliciously dangerous about a bright red gown – and it’s a colour that everyone can wear, as long as you choose the right shade for your skin tone (if you’re cool, with pinkish undertones like Glee star Diana, then you’re all set to be a scarlet woman; gals with warmer complexions should probably be looking for something closer to coral or wine). Grecian drapes and dramatic detailing give an aura of 50s glamour – and you don’t need a starlet’s budget to recreate the look, either (Debut at Debenhams has a stunning example of the style for just £70).
Too much bling at the neck and wrists is likely to take attention away from such a show-stopping frock, so limit yourself to a single, statement cocktail ring, plus a pair of chandelier earrings that are as large as your lobes can handle!
Don’t overdo the make up, or you’ll end up rather more Hallowe’en than Hollywood. Having said that, if you keep lips and cheeks fairly natural, with flattering, rosy shades, you can afford to go mad with mascara, or even experiment with fake lashes for maximum flirtability. Like Diana, you may find that a bit of back-combing before you put your hair up will give it some much-needed volume – then just pop lip gloss, travel hairspray and spare pins in the cutest clutch you can find, and you’ll be ready for your close-up at any time!
