Look perfect in purple like Sarah Harding
Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding loves to have fun with fashion – and here, she’s making the most of the maxi-dress explosion with a dramatically low-cut frock in one of her favourite colours. For a similar, but not quite so daring look, go for Nuala, from Monsoon’s Fusion range, which features eye-catching sequined detailing, tie-neck fastening for a perfect fit, and is backless, rather than cut out at the front (although you’ll still need a stick-on bra – La Senza has a good range that shouldn’t let you down!). The taller you are, the better, so go for heels that are as high as you can manage – wear them around the house before prom night, to make sure they’re comfy enough for dancing so you won’t have to slip them off halfway through the evening. Silver strappy sandals or peep-toes would be ideal.
Silver and purple is an absolutely stunning combo – Sarah’s shining platinum hair is pretty much the ideal accessory, in fact, and all that the perky pop star has added by way of bling is a glamorous pair of 40s starlet style earrings and matching nail polish.
Sarah’s eyes always look amazing, with jet black liner used top and bottom, masses of waterproof mascara, and bold, but carefully blended colour, with stronger, darker shades over the lids and in the sockets, and shimmery metallic powder above. Don’t forget the finishing touch, either – like Sarah, you should be going for perfectly arched eyebrows, with all stray hairs meticulously tweezed away, and any gaps filled in with light strokes of a matching eye pencil. In this dramatic get-up there’s no chance you’ll be a shrinking violet!
