Who says that red heads can’t wear pink? Certainly not us, as Emma Stone stole the spotlight on the red carpet at this year’s Oscars sporting this stunning cerise gown. This shade is simply delectable, especially on girls with fair skin or Promettes who want to look feminine but feel slightly queasy at the thought of a candyfloss or Barbie pink prom dress. We adore the high neck and oversized bow, which show that you don’t need lots of skin on show to get noticed. Check out this slightly simpler version from Red Herring. Why not recreate Emma’s look by making a large bow around your neck with a matching silk scarf?
Emma goes for a cute box clutch like this one from Internationale – a bargain at just £12.99! When it comes to jewellery, the The Help star boasts a chunky bracelet and pretty drop earrings. We’ve found this cherry heart pair from Martine Wester. The little pink beads will really compliment your dress.
Emma’s gorgeous red locks are pulled back into a sleek and shiny bun so as not to interfere with the neckline of her dress. Simple make-up was a running theme on the red carpet at this year’s Academy Awards. If you have a fair complexion like Emma, opt for soft peachy pink tones like in this blusher by FashionistA. Use it to highlight the apples for a pretty flush and the illusion of killer cheekbones.

We are totes jel of TOWIE star Lucy’s fab figure and exotic tan in this beautiful pink one shoulder dress. Ideal for those who want a more grown-up look at prom, this cut-away dress is perfect as long as you’re brimming with body confidence. We adore the asymmetric style and glittery silver edging!
For a similar prom dress style to Lucy’s, check out this head-turner from the Mac Duggal’s Ball Gowns collection; sweet and girly, but with a sassy cut-out at one side. However, you might need to check if your school has any strict dress code regulations first to avoid getting into trouble on the night.
We also love Lucy’s cute little clutch. It’s just big enough for all the essentials – lippie, camera and phone! Get the look with this lush champagne coloured bag, a snip at only £15 from BHS. The diamanté trim will add a touch of extra sparkle to your outfit.
Speaking of bling, check out her earrings! Wow! Prom perfect and great for wearing with your hair up, these chandelier earrings from Accessorize, £14 are totally reem!
Lastly, we couldn’t fail to notice Lucy’s amazing lashes. Like any self-respecting Essex girl, Lucy is never without her false lashes, especially for all those red carpet moments. We’re still loving Cheryl Cole’s eyelashes for Eylure. Just remember to take them off before you go to bed or it’ll look like a spider has crept onto your pillow – eek!

Jewel colours are always a hit for prom and although Lucy Dixon may be one of the newer members of the Hollyoaks cast, she sure knew how to work the red carpet in emerald satin at the British Soap Awards. The fresh faced actress looked jaw dropping in a floor sweeping jewel green prom dress, which she emphasised with a simple gold belt and sparkling clutch bag. The strapless prom dress suits her petite frame beautifully; we love the train, the perfect show stopper for prom. Although we hope nobody trod on it, eek! We recommend this jade coloured gown from Coast. The cross-over bodice design and sweetheart neckline are ultra flattering. Your friends are sure to be green with envy!
As all girls know, the shoes are just as important as the dress for prom! Follow Lucy’s lead and wiggle your feet into these shiny gold Mary Portas at Clarks shoes. These prom shoes will look amazing whether you’re rocking your best frock for prom or going casual in jeans and a tee.
Lucy’s dazzling gold clutch looks beautiful against the emerald green of her dress. We’ve found this exact match from Isme, coming in at £33. It’s so petite – just big enough for your phone and lippie.
Finally, add some bling to your prom outfit with a coat of matching gold nail varnish. Try Gold Dust from Accessorize - you won’t be able to stop admiring your nails once you have applied it!

Iron Man 2 actress Kate Mara looks good enough to eat in this beautiful textured sugar plum dress dripping in sequins. Perfect for prom, this vintage-inspired prom dress is pretty and feminine with an interesting off-the-shoulder detail, clusters of appliqué flowers and a waist-clinching belt. Check out this similarly stunning Mac Duggal Couture prom dress. This prom dress should come with a serious fashion icon warning! Timeless and breath-taking, this gown is worthy of any prom princess and requires little effort to look amazing. Sweep your hair up a la Kate to show off the detailing and straps on the frock and keep jewellery, accessories and make-up to a minimum to avoid overload.
Go for a statement ring such as this one from Miss Selfridge. We love the unique textured antique gold appearance, which will add an edge to an otherwise girlie outfit.
As everyone will be admiring your ring, you’ll need gorgeous nails to go with it. Kate is rocking a shiny black polish; again, a fantastic move to toughen up this feminine look. Just remember to put on a clear base coat, as dark varnishes can stain your nails. Try the Lady In Black shade from nail giants OPI, £11 and available at beauty salons.
Finally, we are super jealous of Kate’s seemingly perfectly smooth skin. If you want to achieve a glow for prom, then get prepping now! Soap and Glory Scrub ‘em and Leave ‘em is a fantastic body scrub, perfect for getting rid of dry, flaky skin, plus it smells gorgeous, too.

Adele has always been beautiful to us, but we think she looks exceptionally stunning here wearing custom made Armani Prive. Showing off her weight loss thanks to surgery on her vocal chords, Adele looks healthy and confident, and exceedingly sparkly in this gorgeous dress! We think her dress would be amazing at prom for girls of all shapes and sizes! We found this look-a-like by Chesca for £210 at John Lewis – subtle and shimmery, this timeless dress will live in your wardrobe for years to come. We love the delicate beading at the top of the dress and the elbow length sleeves are great for arm-conscious girls.
Adele knows how to rock amazing red lips and here is no exception – the shade complements her fair skin (you don’t always need fake tan) and adds some old school glamour in 2012. Clarins Rouge Prodige is a high quality lippie that’s worth the investment.
Adele’s hair ticks all the boxes for prom - glossy, healthy, thick and shiny! If you want to copy Adele’s award winning style for prom, we recommend you try Lee Stafford’s My Big Fat Texturised Hair Super Spray, exclusive to Boots. Not only does it smell lush, but it will give you lovely textured hair, a fun alternative to a sleek updo.
Lastly, we couldn’t help but notice the amazing diamonds glistening from Adele’s ears! Perfect for prom and any other special occasion, we hunted down these spectacular Art Deco earrings from Ebuni.com for that on-trend 20s look.
Vintage style is still totally hot this prom season, as are sugary sweet pastel shades which are understated and really feminine. Looking stunning in this pale pink couture dress by Alexis Mabille, Katy Perry was back to her fashion best grabbing the headlines for all the right reasons following her split from Russell Brand. Ideal for prom, her nude pink dress was covered in dazzling sparkles, pretty ribbons, vintage-style lace and beads. We’ve found this beautiful Sugar Rose design from Monsoon; pretty in pink and gorgeously girly with a textured bodice, we think you will definitely have one of the best dresses at prom in this subtle beauty!
The California girl teamed her gorgeous prom dress with what may be described as an ‘oversized’ fascinator. In fact, we’re not totally sure how she could lift her head! Perhaps a little much for prom and more suited to a trip to Ladies Day at Ascot, why not try this lovely sparkling tiara headband, £34, from Ebuni.com?
Katy is definitely channelling My Fair Lady in this get up and we couldn’t help but notice her absolutely amazing ring! Perhaps making up for the lack of a wedding ring, but either way, this piece of jewellery is jaw dropping! Get your own piece of sparkle for prom with this beautiful knuckle duster from Glitzy Secrets, coming in at £22.
Katy’s bright blue eyes are emphasised by her gorgeous fluttering lashes from her own collection recently launched with Eylure, £5.95 from Boots! Try Oh My! for Katy’s dramatic wide-eyed look? Keep the rest of your eye make-up minimal and let the lashes do the talking – trust us, you will look amazing in all your photos!

A bold print and classic cut can go a long way no matter what the occasion as demonstrated by An Education star Carey Mulligan. We love this feminine yet understated red dress with white spring-like tulip design. Calf length and slight sleeves, this is one your parents are sure to approve of for prom, yet the nipped in waist and structured shoulders still create sassy curves. We love this look-a-like from apricotonline.co.uk. It’s only £29 and the peachy/coral shade is simply delectable.
We salute Carey for her playful use of colour as she teams her red and white dress with lavender blue heels. As a subtle nod to the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee this summer, we’ve selected this royal blue pair of courts from Dune.
Carey’s petite features totally suit her blonde pixie do - proving you don’t need long, tumbling tresses to look feminine. To add shine and tame frizz for short hair, try Yogi’s Anti Frizz Serum, which contains Keratin to improve condition. Carey’s slick locks tucked behind the ear show off a pair of cute studs like these pretty butterflies from Jon Richard’s Simply Silver range. Her make-up is very natural, not to clash with the colour in her outfit. Rule Britannia…or is it Holland with the tulip print?

Duck egg blue is a perfect pastel colour for embracing spring/summer and complements Kaley’s fab milk maid plaits. The sweetheart chiffon corset is flattering on all body shapes and the textured skirt adds extra interest. We found this amazing dress from Mac Duggal’s Ballgowns collection; the embellished bust and statement satin bow around the waist will definitely make you stand out from the crowd at prom.
We’re loving her matching miniature clutch bag; but if you need a purse to fit all your prom essentials in, then check out this lacy clutch from Martine Wester. There’s plenty of room for your camera, lipgloss, hairbrush and phone etc.
Halo braids are big news right now and they really suit Kaley. Expect to see lots of plaits and braids at proms up and down the country this year!
Here at PROM, we all totally love Emma Stone! Sassy, feisty and naturally beautiful (although did you know that she dyes her blonde hair red?!), we think Emma always looks bang on trend. She didn’t let us down at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, looking gorgeous in this classy Alexander McQueen LBD, with some statement heels and awesome hair!
Why not try this lovely Ruby Prom dress as your perfect prom dress? Timeless and sophisticated with a little bit of added bling, this is a younger and funkier version of Emma’s heavier dress, which will take you straight to the prom after party with ease!
We found this adorable clutch bag just like Emma’s from Dune, coming in at £50 – this is a classic bag that will last you for years and will go with absolutely anything. We love the silky ruffles and the oyster clasp on this bag to keep all your prom essentials safe.
We also fell in love with these stunning heels from Phase Eight, £89, available from Debenhams. Timeless and ever-so-pretty, we think they are very Emma and go perfectly with the rest of this outfit.
Emma has beautifully girly lips, ideal for prom – get a similar look with this Vivo lipstick, in Sugar Pink (9), a bargain at only £2 from Tesco. This colour does a great job of making your teeth look whiter, as well as adding a feminine pop of colour to an all-black outfit.

Girls with a pale complexion can wear bright colours as proved by Dianna Agron in this Glee-ful fuchsia prom dress! Girly and delicate, we love the elegant flow of the waterfall ruffles at the front, as well layers of sheer, floor-sweeping material to the hem. Check out this timeless look-a-like from John lewis!
Dianna rocks some amazing prom hair; plaits are big this season and this laid back yet glamorous look complimented her Carolina Herrera frock perfectly. By wearing her hair up, Dianna shows off those beautiful sparkly earrings and shoulder details. A must for any glamour-puss, these twenties style droplets (£25, Topshop) will see you through many parties, long after prom.
To stop the look from being too sugary sweet, Dianna wore purple Jimmy Choo sandals; a bit of height is perfect for shorter girls as it shows the dress to its full potential, as well as making you feel more glam for prom.
Mckinley High’s fave cheerleader also sported short dark nails and smoky eyes to add a grown up feel to an otherwise young dress. For a dramatic eye, try these new Ever Easy false lashes from Kiss; you use the attached strings to perfectly line up the lashes to your eye line, meaning you can avoid those false lash frustrations.
Finally, decorate your wrist with this adorable bracelet from BHS, only £10! Similar to Dianna’s, it’s the ideal prom accessory and will glimmer beautifully under those disco lights.

Dancing On Ice star and number one female British alpine ski racer Chemmy Alcott, proves that black doesn’t have to be boring in this beautiful LBD. We think this is a great frock for prom and as an added bonus, black suits everyone! We love the embellished line under the bust and the satin corset, before it flares out into a beautiful textured skirt! Great on most, if not all figures, this outfit gets full marks from us. Copy her gold-worthy look with this gorgeous prom dress from Mac Duggal’s Babydoll collection.
This one-of-a-kind halter gown required 800 hours of hand beading to achieve the crocodile skin pattern, so you can see why we think it’s lust worthy! We found this beautiful sequin embellished floor length prom dress from John Lewis (johnlewis.com), a prom bargain at £199. A classic, not to mention flattering cut for girls of all shapes and sizes; plus the gold beads will sparkle majestically under the disco lights.
Like Jennifer, every girl wants a healthy glow come prom night, so why not try Lauren’s Way Glam Tan? Designed and developed by the original Essex girl Lauren Goodger, this tan slides on easily, doesn’t smell and won’t leave you looking orange – hooray!
We’re loving Jen’s sophisticated glossy black nails – a perfect way of toughening up such a girlie dress. Remember to apply a clear base coat first to prevent staining, then apply Lady In Black from OPI, for those A Lister nails.
Finally – the hair! Sometimes the pressure for the best hair is just as intense as for the best dress. But never fear, as we have all the top secrets from The Hunger Games. Jennifer used JOICO’s K-Pak Deep Penetrating Reconstructor to get her hair back into shape during filming. A rich and deeply intense conditioner, it’s perfect for getting your hair silky smooth and glossy for prom!

OK, so it does remind us of a flamingo – but what’s wrong with that? Gorgeously pink, luxe feathers and amazingly lean legs! If you ask us, this is the perfect ‘look at me’ style for prom. A hot pink prom dress, glam hair, a glowing tan (although we can’t all jet off to the Maldives like T!) and killer heels = wow!
Get her look with this fab hot pink prom dress from Mac Duggal – why not add a petticoat underneath for that retro prom look? Tulisa doesn’t usually wear girlie sugary colours such as pink, which is why we love this so much! If you, like Tulisa, normally dodge pink you should consider wearing it just for the shock factor. Imagine your friends’ faces when you walk in!
Team with these stunning silver heels from Topshop, £55, for some serious shoe envy from the other girls! What’s great about these shoes is that you can wear them with practically anything; you can even glam up a pair of jeans after prom with these lovelies!
Copy Tulisa’s tan with this celeb fave, Fake Bake. The instant shimmer tan (£10, Asos) is perfect for those of you in a hurry - it simply washes off with water. However, we recommend you exfoliate first to avoid those horrible streaks and flaky bits…and maybe stay undercover if any rain is forecast!
We’re loving Tulisa’s shiny dark locks. Spritz on some of Lee Stafford’s Spray Shine (£5.49, Boots) to get your own Female Boss look for prom!

Ok, now we can see why she is called The Body – this mermaid inspired prom dress is bang on trend, and Elle, like so many others this red carpet season has gone for an almost bridal look! With her tousled hair, tan and amazing accessories, Elle has proved that she can rock high fashion with the rest of them! This Mac Duggal prom dress is a dead-ringer for Elle’s – we love the feathery mermaid skirt and bejewelled bodice. This prom dress is best for girls with a petite frame and remember to be careful to not get any make up or fake tan on it as this will be a massive thumbs down! Accessories wise, we fell in love with this heart shaped bag from A-Shu, at only £11! Elle is rocking some fantastic arm candy, so we’ve found some great bracelets for you to layer up; these gold and silver sequin bangles will look fab layered with these pink bangles from Dorothy Perkins! For a more relaxed look, Elle goes for neutral make-up and a mane of beautifully volumised, slightly toussled locks. For super model status, try blow drying your hair upside-down on a high heat (don’t forget to use a heat protection spray) and complete the look by curling a few sections at the front.

Nicola Roberts looks like a modern day princess in this pretty pink A-line dress. The calf-length skirt is very 50s and probably to be avoided if you’re short. However, 5ft 5” Nicola pulls it off, and the baby pink against her porcelain skin and free-flowing red locks is a winning combo. Check out this beautiful pink prom dress by Tiffany Prom. The embellished sweetheart bodice and full-length skirt is so feminine.
The Girls Aloud lovely teams her fairytale prom dress with contemporary accessories including a chunky gold pendant and chain handle bag. We’ve tracked down this cute locket necklace from bags of sparkle (ideal for popping a little pic of your BFF or secret crush) and a look-a-like quilted handbag from Fiorelli.
Nic goes au natural with a mane of thick and natural wavy locks, as well as a distinct lack of fake bake – a decision we salute, as it prevents her look from becoming Jordan-esque! Finish up with a pretty slick of shimmery pink gloss such as this tube from FashionistA.
